Luna project: Stop thief!

Journalists like figures and graphics. So it’s useful for companies to provide interesting studies that can where possible highlight their activity. Once again, Checkpoint Systems has shown that it is an expert in its field.

Checkpoint Systems, a security specialist in the distribution sector, has fully grasped the importance of studies. For the third time in a row, the company has published the results of its survey on stock loss. As a reminder, stock loss is the turnover loss suffered by retailers as a result of in-store theft, staff theft, supplier fraud and administrative errors. This survey it should be noted is carried out annually by a reputable and independent institute, the UK-based Centre for Retail Research (CRR).

In previous years, Luna organised in Belgium the press conference on the survey. And these conferences were always successful. The ‘Global Retail Theft Barometer’ has now become a concept in the retail sector. In 2009, Checkpoint Systems again approached Luna to publicise the study, this time for the whole of the Benelux. In close collaboration with the head of marketing for Checkpoint Systems, Luna profiled the places that are best adapted in Belgium and abroad (the Match store in Woluwe and the Deen chain of supermarkets in Almere), selected the most important information in the voluminous research and contacted newspapers, radio and TV stations and the specialised press covering distribution. Together this helped to increase the visibility necessary for Checkpoint Systems and reinforced the study’s credibility.
