Media news

As ever, we would like to keep you updated on what is happening in the media world! Have you come across 'De Zakenwereld'? Or the 'Media' section in De Standaard?

New economic and financial publication
Financial Media, publisher of the specialist magazines De Bestuurder and CFO Magazine, will soon launch a new economic and financier publication. 'De Zakenwereld' will focus on all the news from the business world. The magazine will appear twice monthly. Its first edition is planned for early November.

De Standaard refreshes its 'Media' section
De Standaard has a brand-new 'Media' section! Dominique Deckmyn, former editor-in-chief of publications such as IT Professional and an employee until recently for De Standaard Online, will work on this section and therefore returns to being a journalist. The section will focus on use of technology in our daily lives, covering areas such as mobility, social networking, apps, devices, streaming video and audio, and emerging trends.

The Belgian magazine PC World is to fold
Belgium's ICT publications continue to suffer setbacks. After the shutdown of Business ICT, Data News' move from a weekly to a twice-monthly publication, and the ending of the print editions of IT Professional and IT Reseller, PC World is now to fold. Published by Best of Publishing, this magazine featured technical advice for PC users and existed for 12 years in Belgium.

Trends: editor-in-chief wanted
The business magazine Trends has been searching for several months for a new editor-in-chief. The current holder of the post, An Goovaerts, will soon rejoin the editorial staff as a journalist (for Trends). Editorial coordinator Lieven De Smet will also leave his coordination job and become a journalist again. The editor-in-chief job is open to employees of Roularta and external candidates. It is hoped that the new editor-in-chief will have taken up his or her post by the end of the year. Steven Vandenbroeke, editor-in-chief of Moneytalk, which recently merged with Cash, is also leaving.
